Planet Computers Partners with HyperAppliance, Paving Way for $1 Billion in AI Hardware Manufacturing

Planet Computers has today unveiled a partnership with HyperCycle, leading to the formation of HyperAppliance, a manufacturer specialising in Decentralised AI hardware. The debut product, HyperAIBox, is a cutting-edge, plug-and-play device featuring an integrated touchscreen, designed for AI Compute on HyperCycle.ai’s internet of AI.

The partnership is backed by funding from a group of sophisticated investors, spearheaded by hardware accelerator startup Kor/Accel. This backing has positioned HyperAppliance for substantial growth, including a significant initial order of $30 million from Planet Computers.

This joint venture opens a $1 billion market opportunity in AI Computing. HyperAppliance, as a component of the HyperCycle ecosystem, was organically formed to meet the growing needs for hardware, software, and network providers in AI.

The initial $30 million agreement is the beginning of what is expected to be a series of deals between HyperAppliance and Planet Computers, targeting the production of more than 50,000 HyperAiBoxes.

The HyperAiBox is a state-of-the-art device, a pioneer in Decentralised AI computing, facilitating easy access for consumers to participate in the AI Computation Economy.

For HyperAppliance, the HyperAiBox represents a compact, energy-efficient computing solution designed to blend AI computing seamlessly into everyday life. This collaboration highlights Planet Computers’ ability to manufacture sophisticated AI computing devices and marks a significant growth phase for HyperAppliance.

Evan Rodenberg, CEO and co-founder of HyperAppliance, stated: “This collaboration is more than a synergy between two innovative entities; it is a beacon for the future of AI. Together, we are breaking down the barriers to entry for Decentralised AI computation. We are forging a path for inclusive, groundbreaking AI solutions that empower every individual to be an active participant in this technological revolution. Our partnership is not just about creating products; it’s about democratising access to advanced AI and enabling a collective leap forward into a future where everyone can contribute to, and benefit from, the immense potential of AI.”

Dr Janko Mrsic-Flogel, CEO of Planet Computers, said: “This announcement marks a significant milestone for Planet, extending the company’s capabilities into computing hardware and AI. Holding a PhD in Neural Networks myself, I am particularly pleased that Planet is a critical partner in the production of infrastructure components for the decentralised AI fabric that HyperCycle is building.”

Toufi Saliba, CEO and Founder of HyperCycle, commented: “While HyperCycle remains focused on the network elements for the Internet of AI there are several key components that enable that distribution, notably this partnership with Planet Computers. It will help accelerate our vision with the HyperAiBox and the formation of HyperAppliance that is likely to be the fastest growing hardware company which has already shipped its products into 100s of customers around the globe since its inception this Summer.”
