Groundbreaking Activist Social Network, CAUSE, to Launch in Cambridge in October 2023

CAUSE, the revolutionary social network designed exclusively for activists, is gearing up for its debut in Cambridge this October. Founded by a team of recent graduates from Cambridge University, all of whom identify as LGBT, CAUSE is poised to provide a dynamic platform for the new generation of activists to organise, mobilise, and drive meaningful action for the causes they are passionate about. With a resolute commitment to empowering individuals to create tangible change through digital means, CAUSE aims to reshape the landscape of social media platforms.

CAUSE is set to transform the way activists connect and collaborate by offering four primary features:

  1. Discover Page: Facilitating easy access to actions and events in close proximity, fostering greater community engagement and participation.
  2. Feed: Providing activists with a centralised space to access all their activist content, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience.
  3. Secure Messaging System: Ensuring secure communications among activists to enhance privacy and data protection.
  4. Emergency SMS: Offering a safety net for activists during critical situations, guaranteeing essential safety measures and visibility.

What sets CAUSE apart from conventional social media platforms is its focus on direct action and change-making, moving away from the negative aspects of endless scrolling and trivialising important matters. Emphasising data security and privacy, CAUSE ensures that all shared information is encrypted, adhering to verifiable data security standards to build trust among users.

The highly anticipated launch of CAUSE is scheduled for October, coinciding with the start of the new academic year in Cambridge. Initially available to activists in Cambridge, the platform has plans to expand its reach to other UK university cities in early 2024.

“We are thrilled to introduce CAUSE to Cambridge and empower a fresh wave of activists,” expressed Gabriel Brown, former undergraduate of King’s College, Cambridge, and CEO of CAUSE. “Our objective is to offer a secure, purpose-driven platform that ignites real-world change by connecting individuals who share a fervor for making a difference.”
