DOMINO’S POKE FUN AT HAPLESS CHELSEA

0

It has been Chelsea’s worst start to a season since 1978-79, with the Blues taking just five points from six games.

Dare we mention that the season in question saw the West London side go on to be relegated?

Goalscoring has been the main problem affecting Mauricio Pochettino’s men. Chelsea did hit the net in last week’s 1-0 win over Brighton in the EFL Cup, but they have failed to score a goal in the Premier League since August 25 against Luton.

Such is their plight that even companies are seizing the chance to poke fun.

Pizza chain Domino’s are the latest, having placed a live tracker outside Craven Cottage, the venue for Chelsea’s trip to Fulham tonight, detailing how many pizzas they have sold since Nicolas Jackson’s 75th-minute goal against the Hatters – the third in a 3-0 win.

Tottenham’s Udogie subject to racist abuse after 2-1 win over Liverpool

0

Kick it Out says they are “extremely concerned” after Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie became the latest Premier League player to be racially abused on social media.

Udogie was targeted following Spurs’ 2-1 win over Liverpool on Saturday evening. The Italian full-back was fouled twice by Diego Jota inside 90 seconds in the second half, prompting Jota to see red, Liverpool’s second dismissal of a hugely controversial encounter.

Troy Townsend, Head of Player Engagement at Kick it Out, said: “We are extremely concerned that players are being continually targeted on social media following games in the worst possible terms, and it is vital those responsible are held to account.

“High-profile players have been targeted almost every weekend since the season began in August.

“This is a sad reminder of how much work remains to combat discrimination in football.”

Spurs also issued a statement condemning the comments and messages aimed at their player, saying they are “disgusted”.

The club added: “We will work with the Premier League and, where possible, take action against any individual we are able to identify. We stand with you, Destiny.”

Premium garden designs could offer housebuilders thousands in extra revenue

Over half (51%) of people would be more likely to consider buying a new build home if it had a landscaped back garden – and it’s something many would be willing to pay more for, according to new research.

The data also revealed that people would welcome the option to choose from either a templated or bespoke garden design.

The research, which questioned 2,001 adults across the UK and was commissioned by Marshalls, found nearly a quarter of people (23%) said they’d be willing to pay more for a new build if they got to choose from a choice of templated gardens and the work was done before they moved in. And 16% said they’d be willing to pay more for a new build if they got to opt for a bespoke garden and the work was done before they moved in.

Willing to pay more

For those who would like to choose from a range of templated garden designs and have the work done before they moved in, 60% would be willing to pay up to 20% more of the overall property price. For those who would like a bespoke garden, 58% would be willing to pay up to 20% more.

The research found that 42% of respondents think the layout of new build homes makes indoor-to-outdoor living easier and over half (51%) like that new build gardens tend to be low maintenance. However, the results also revealed some negative perceptions about new build gardens, with 61% thinking they’re small, 52% believing they have no privacy, and 45% viewing them as unattractive.

Making homes desirable

Responding to the findings, Ben Warren, Managing Director of Landscape Products, at Marshalls, said: “With a slow new build market, we know our customers are keen to explore how they can make homes more desirable and kick-start sales. Our research shows that not only could housebuilders and property developers attract more buyers if they offer premium garden options, but they could also increase their profitability.

“When we look at the figures in more detail, even just a 6% increase in property value could equate to between £12,000 and £32,000 in additional revenue, depending on the property’s location – purely for offering the buyer the opportunity to have their garden of choice created before they move in. It’s common practice for housebuilders and property developers to offer their customers a choice of other features like kitchens, bathrooms and flooring, so why not take a similar approach when it comes to the outdoor space?

“When the commercial opportunities are so abundantly clear, now is time to begin rethinking the approach to new builds and provide buyers with the opportunity to be garden-proud from the minute they receive their keys.”

As one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of hard landscaping and building materials, Marshalls not only supplies a broad range of high quality and attractive products for commercial and residential developments, but the expert team also support developers and builders with design and engineering expertise that save time, money and carbon.

Arteta confident Havertz will come good at Arsenal

0

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will offer his full “support and confidence” to struggling forward Kai Havertz.

Havertz joined the Gunners over the summer after an underwhelming spell at Chelsea but has yet to shine, failing to register a goal or an assist in six Premier League games this season.

Arteta is confident the Germany international will turn it around, though, and is prepared to give him his full backing.

He said: “[We are] trying to help him as much as possible. Give him the confidence to give him minutes.

“If he doesn’t perform, it’s up to us. He needs to play within the team.

“[We will] try to give him as much support and confidence as we can because that is going to help him for sure.”

Arsenal go to Bournemouth on Saturday looking to maintain their unbeaten league start while also juggling with a congested fixture list that sees them competing in the EFL Cup and Champions League.

“Playing every three days and having to win and compete in different competitions, that is the challenge and we are up for it.,” added Arteta.

“It’s a huge thing and it is an individual one and a collective one. That confidence transmits to each other.

“Playing well and winning matches is the best thing to do. We are in a good moment.”

Arteta will find Andoni Iraola waiting for him in the hosts’ dugout at the Vitality Stadium with the pair both hailing from the Basque region of Spain.

Arteta said: “We know each other really well. We have played together.

“We are privileged to be raised there [in the Basque region] and be educated there. That’s the beauty of football that now we are both managing in the Premier League.”

ULEZ Fines in Error: Hundreds of Innocent Drivers Affected Due to Number Plate Mistake, Say Car Experts

Car experts have raised concerns over hundreds of drivers being wrongly charged and fined while driving in London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ). VRM Swansea’s Plates4Less team has fielded numerous inquiries over the past three months from drivers who received unjust fines, and they have been actively assisting clients in challenging and overturning ULEZ charges that should never have been imposed.

The ULEZ, recently expanded to encompass greater London within the M25 motorway, imposes emissions-based charges on owners of non-compliant vehicles. Although the scheme was introduced in 2015, it only came into effect in September 2020.

In June, approximately 4,000 ULEZ fines were issued daily. Plates4Less experts claim that many of these fines were unjust because Transport for London (TfL) is not updating its vehicle database promptly enough based on DVLA records, which accurately link number plates to the correct vehicle details.

According to experts, if TfL updated its records daily, it would correctly identify these vehicles as ULEZ compliant. However, because this isn’t happening, the ANPR cameras rely on a basic non-DVLA database. This basic database relies on the age indicator of the number plate to determine the vehicle’s age. If the vehicle appears older than it is due to an older personalized number plate, the cameras automatically issue a charge, leading to incorrect fines.

To assist motorists in avoiding unjust charges, the number plate and motoring experts at VRM Swansea’s Plates4Less have created a quick guide. This helpful template can be used to challenge TfL or any other authority when facing an incorrect charge or fine.

Antony Clark, of Plates4Less, explained, “As a trusted supplier of private number plates, people often come to us with their questions, and we’re happy to help. We have found that Transport for London is not updating their vehicles database from DVLA records often enough”.

“We contacted TFL on behalf of our clients and were pleased to discover that there’s a super easy fix to this issue. As long as people send Transport for London a copy of their V5 Registration Certificate when they get a charge, TfL should be able to investigate and cancel the charges and any subsequent fine.”

Antony assured: “We’ve included an email template for challenging inaccurate charges in our free guide, alongside other useful information about ULEZ and Clean Air zones.”

The guide, including an email template for challenging inaccurate charges, is available online at www.plates4less.co.uk/ulez. Plates4Less, known for its expertise in private number plates, offers this guide as part of their commitment to helping motorists navigate ULEZ and Clean Air zones.

London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone has been a subject of controversy, affecting even residents within the zone. While driving a ULEZ-compliant vehicle is the best preventive measure, it’s not always feasible due to cost constraints and confusing regulations. Antony emphasised, “The issue remains that the system isn’t perfect and the database updates slowly, which is why some motorists who are driving compliant vehicles are receiving charges and fines that they shouldn’t be. This solution proposed by Plates4Less should allow Transport for London to update their files, solving the problem.

“At Plates4Less, we’ve seen the many ways that a new number plate can benefit drivers, and ULEZ shouldn’t get in the way of that. We hope our guide will help motorists understand how to navigate ULEZ, and avoid unnecessary fines.”

Plates4Less, an agency specialising in private number plates in the UK, has been serving buyers and sellers since 1997. They hold over 65 million registrations and have the most advanced smart search engine to assist clients in finding the perfect plate. Despite their name, Plates4Less holds the UK record for negotiating the sale of the most expensive private sale to date in the United Kingdom, exceeding £600,000 in 2022.

Stanislav Kondrashov Unravels the Enigma of Monarch Butterfly Migration in “The Migration of Monarch Butterflies”

In his latest publication, “The Migration of Monarch Butterflies,” Stanislav Kondrashov delves into the captivating annual migration journey of monarch butterflies. This fascinating exploration sheds light on the butterflies’ remarkable journey from North America to the Oyamel fir forests of Mexico, revealing the secrets behind their navigation, and emphasizing the importance of conservation efforts to preserve this awe-inspiring phenomenon.

Every autumn, monarch butterflies embark on an incredible odyssey, spanning approximately 3,000 miles, as they journey to their winter sanctuary in the Oyamel fir forests of Mexico. Stanislav Kondrashov unravels the mystery of how these delicate creatures manage to navigate such vast distances. Current research suggests that their guidance system relies on the orientation of the sun and Earth’s magnetic field, serving as their navigational compasses.

Intriguingly, Kondrashov unveils the fact that no single butterfly completes this extensive journey. Instead, the migration is a multi-generational undertaking, highlighting the cyclical nature of this remarkable phenomenon. Throughout their arduous trek, monarch butterflies depend on patches of native plants, particularly milkweed, as essential waystations for rest and reproduction. This underscores the critical role these oases play in the monarchs’ migratory success.

The Oyamel fir forests in Mexico, serving as the monarchs’ sanctuary, are featured prominently as habitats in urgent need of conservation. These forests face threats from logging, raising concerns about the future of this natural spectacle. The article also discusses ongoing initiatives aimed at establishing “monarch corridors” of native plants to support their migration.

Beyond the migration itself, the article touches on the broader ecological significance of monarch butterflies, including their vital role in pollination and their position within the food chain. Furthermore, the monarchs’ migration holds cultural and artistic significance, inspiring various creative fields such as art and poetry.

Readers are invited to delve deeper into this ecological marvel by exploring the full article and accompanying video.. To stay updated with Stanislav Kondrashov’s insights and content, visit www.stanislavkondrashov.com and explore his social media channels.
