Electric Brixton announces support for local grassroots youth football

0

Iconic live music venue Electric Brixton has announced an exciting new partnership to support local grassroots youth football.

The successful music venue known for its contribution to youth music culture in Brixton is now investing in local community football.

Electric Brixton, which was earlier this year made an Asset of Community Value to protect the venue for future generations, has announced a £10,000 financial package that will fund local football and sports.

Following England’s Euros campaign in Germany, Electric Brixton has committed to support Regan’s Soccer School, a local company established in the summer of 2017.

The investment will allow Regan’s Soccer School to buy new kits and assist with free sports sessions giving back to the children in the community.

Dominic Madden, co-founder and CEO of Electric Brixton said: “Since the refurbishment and reopening of the Electric the local community has taken us under their wing and supported us through some challenging times. We are proud to give back and support a great local initiative which benefits children across the borough. Football is a universal sport that supports and encourages teamwork and we hope our support will see great benefits to our young and aspiring footballers of tomorrow.”

Regan’s FC was established by Harry Regan in 2017 to bring something new to the community and create an open arms football club for all families in and around the areas of SE1 and SE11, something which had been lacking for many years.

Since then they not only deliver various football sessions throughout the week for nine Regan’s FC teams, but have also run football camps, half term activities and development centres to create a platform for all ages and abilities as an introduction to football across Central and South East London. Throughout last season they successfully registered over 500 children from the local schools and community with age groups ranging from 4-15 years old, who compete the the Saturday Youth League, Selkent League and JPL League.

The aim as a club is to create pathways for many talented players across their age groups and also install the importance of competing in competitive sport from a young age.

With their work and support from company’s like Electric Brixton they are bringing players and families together in the community from all different backgrounds and religions.

Regan’s founder, Harry Regan, said: “As we have seen with the Euros football brings people together and allows communities to unite like no other sport can. The support we have received from Electric Brixton is so important because it will allow us to buy new kits and develop free training sessions for youngsters in our local communities. I would like to thank everyone at Electric for their generosity and look forward to working with them in the future.”

The Electric Brixton is part of the Electric Group, an independent music company, born and bred in Brixton. They own and operate some of the UK’s most iconic live music venues including Electric Brixton, SWX Bristol and NX Newcastle. They also own the Freehold of the Leadmill in Sheffield, the longest running live music venue in the city.

The Electric Group was formed in 2013 and in just over ten years the company has evolved out of the success of our refurbishment and reimagination of the Brixton Fridge as Electric Brixton, now recognised as one of London and the UK’s leading music venues, hosting world class artists across an eclectic range of genres.

The multi-purpose London venue in Brixton was the first development and has proved to be one of London’s most iconic and much loved music venues.

The Edwardian building has a wealth of history, with a number of legends having graced its stage including The Smiths, The Clash, Eurythmics, Pet Shop Boys, Liam Gallagher, Ella Eyre, John Newman, Pixies, My Bloody Valentine, Stereophonics, Franz Ferdinand, Rudimental, Swans, Keane, Emile Sandé, London Grammar, Clean Bandit, Ziggy Marley, David Ram Jam Rodigan, Andy C, DeadMau5, Carl Cox, Gorgon City and many more.

The company’s success has been achieved by focusing on the venues, the people who work there and the communities in which they have deep roots. They pledge to continue to make these three pillars a priority in the future as they move to different venues across the UK.

The Electric Group is a Joint Venture between co-founders, Dominic Madden, CEO, and Jake Lewis. Dominic has over 20 years’ experience of management in entertainment and Jake is a musician and producer.

Duracell Energy Hub Debuts in Cheltenham Town Centre

0

Authorised Duracell licensee, Puredrive Energy Ltd, is opening its first-ever store within the historic Cavendish House, right in the centre of Cheltenham.

With the growing demand for more reliable and cleaner energy to power homes, and increasing pressure on the national grid, battery storage systems provide many advantages to homeowners. These include the ability to save up to 85% on electricity bills, purchase electricity at the cheapest rates, and use it as needed.

The public will have the opportunity to learn how they can reduce their home energy costs through the range of Duracell Energy home battery products at this unique store located in Cavendish House, Cheltenham.

A typical house uses up to 10kWh per day of electricity which equates to an average annual bill for a medium three-bedroom house of £937. Adding a home battery to a property can cut energy bills by as much as £796 per year when combined with solar panels, according to British Gas.

Cheltenham-based Puredrive Energy launched the ecosystem of Duracell Energy products to the UK market back in March at the Fully Charged Show, London. The range of battery storage solutions including the Dura5 5kWh battery, the Dura-i Inverter and the Duracharger EV will be exclusively sold by Puredrive Energy in the UK. The products offer full integration to provide homeowners with a comprehensive solution to lowering the cost of their bills as well as reducing their carbon footprint.

Cavendish House, located right at the heart of Cheltenham on the Promenade, was first established in 1823, making it the town’s oldest department store. In recent years high street giant House of Fraser had occupied the building until the store’s closure earlier this year.

Puredrive Energy CEO, Mark Millar said: “This is the first time in our company’s history we will have boots on the ground within a fixed location.

“The first ever Duracell Energy store is now open and will be a hub to support homeowners in making an informed decision on home battery solutions to save money on their energy as well as minimise their environmental impact.

“Amid uncertainty within the energy market and the increased dependency on the national grid, customers will be able to obtain a quote for our home battery storage solutions from our own dedicated Duracell Energy team.”

For more information, homeowners can obtain a quote in 30 seconds via the Duracell Energy website at app-uk.duracellenergy.com/quote-calculator.

EduCrafter: Enabling Chinese Students to Master Academic Writing Abroad

0

EduCrafter, a leader in ethical academic support, has reached a significant milestone by expanding its services to support over 50,000 students annually, including 5,000 new Chinese students in 2024.

Each year, between 600,000 and 800,000 Chinese students venture abroad for their studies, with the UK and US being popular destinations. However, statistics reveal that three in five Chinese students, approximately 400,000, encounter difficulties in writing their essays, reports, and dissertations. This issue is similarly prevalent among Russian and Arabic students studying in the UK and US, where many fear failure due to their unfamiliarity with Western academic writing conventions.

EduCrafter provides essential guidance and support, helping these students navigate the complexities of academic writing and achieve their academic goals. Its mission is to offer legitimate and ethical tutoring services, focusing on helping students understand and excel in essay writing rather than simply completing assignments for them.

“Moving to a new country to study is not an easy process and we recognise that students need our support with daily tasks that come with being at university, such as essay writing.

“We focus on teaching students how to structure their essays, conduct research, and reference their work correctly, empowering them to produce high-quality assignments independently.”

EduCrafter’s platform offers access to a team of 450 expert tutors, all graduates from prestigious universities like Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, and Cambridge. These tutors are equipped with the knowledge and experience to guide students through the intricacies of essay writing, ensuring they develop the skills necessary to succeed.

EduCrafter ensures that each assignment is crafted to meet specific requirements, adhering to the highest standards of academic integrity. Its quality control measures guarantee that all work is original and free from plagiarism, providing students with the confidence that they are receiving top-notch guidance.

While its primary focus is on Chinese students, EduCrafter is equally beneficial to Russian and Arabic students facing similar challenges. EduCrafter’s support extends to all students struggling with the transition to Western academic writing standards, offering them the tools and guidance needed to excel.

Sketch Studios’ Design Director Champions Workplace Inclusivity for Neurodivergent Employees

0

A London-based studio is pioneering inclusivity in workplace design. Sketch Studios’ Design Director, Gareth van Zyl, is at the forefront of the conversation surrounding workplaces for neurodivergent employees.

Variations in cognition, attention, focus, and sensory processing influence how we live our lives. For individuals who are not neurotypical (including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other conditions), these differences can significantly impact their careers and wellbeing.

Neurodiverse design entails creating workplaces that accommodate various neurological profiles. Neurodiversity has only recently gained attention in the workplace, and continued advocacy from organisations like Sketch Studios is essential to maintaining an open dialogue and fostering innovative design that challenges conventional norms.

Gareth was the design expert in several roundtable discussions hosted by Sketch Studios about designing for neurodiversity in the workplace. Since then, he’s educated organisations across various industries on how office design can craft an inclusive environment for all.

Gareth highlights the impact of the open-plan office, which can reduce privacy, increase noise levels, and cause disruptions and sensory overload. He suggests design solutions like implementing acoustic treatment, creating designated quiet areas that staff can retreat to, and adopting flexible seating arrangements that give employees their autonomy back.

Guenaelle Watson, Managing Director at sister brand 360 Workplace, weighed in on the discussion: “One of the core principles of neurodiversity inclusion is offering choice and flexibility within the workplace environment. The key is providing choice and having places where people can focus, areas where individuals can collaborate, spaces to decompress, socialise, and making it comfortable for anyone to make those decisions.”

Technology also plays a crucial role in providing access to assistive technologies. Incorporating inclusive design principles into digital platforms and software fosters equal access to tools, information, and resources.

Ultimately, in a world where disclosing neurodivergence is still a scary idea for many, empowerment comes from encouraging open dialogue between employers and employees about individual needs and preferences. Gareth hopes to help senior leaders champion neurodiversity inclusion by opening their eyes to the possibilities and impacts of providing a welcoming workplace for all.

As mobile search continues to grow, ensuring your website is mobile-friendly is more important than ever. Positive reviews and high ratings can also improve your local search visibility and credibility.

5. Build Strong Backlinks

Backlinks from reputable websites are a strong signal to search engines of your site’s credibility and relevance. Joanne Avison Unveils Groundbreaking Book on Fascia and Movement

Brighton, UK. July 18th, 2024 – Joanne Avison, a celebrated author, illustrator, and yoga specialist, has launched her latest book, “Myofascial Magic in Action.” This book is the first in a series of five, commissioned in 2023, and is set to revolutionise the understanding of movement and therapy through her pioneering work on fascia, anatomy, and movement.

The series aims to make the complex science of fascia accessible and practical for everyone, from yoga and Pilates instructors to physiotherapists, fundamentally changing how movement is taught and comprehended.

Joanne’s journey began with her own struggles to understand her body. As a self-described non-athlete and bookworm, she faced chronic pain and limitations following the birth of her son. Traditional physiotherapy and yoga failed to provide relief, prompting her to delve into anatomy, biomechanics, biotensegrity, and fascia. This exploration led her to human dissection labs and mystery schools, where she uncovered the unique, interconnected nature of the human body through the living interface of the fascia.

Her deep investigation into fascia—an essential connective tissue matrix—revealed that the body behaves more like a liquid crystal interface than a mechanical machine. Joanne’s research demonstrated that understanding fascia could significantly enhance movement, prevent injuries, alleviate chronic pain, and improve overall well-being. This paradigm shift has transformed her life and the lives of many others through her teachings and writings.

Joanne’s first book, “Yoga, Fascia, Anatomy, and Movement,” became a top-selling specialist resource, acclaimed for its depth and clarity. Despite initial pressure to produce a coffee-table book, Joanne remained committed to creating a serious, impactful work, resulting in a respected academic publication that has influenced movement teachers worldwide.

“Myofascial Magic in Action” continues this legacy, offering a more practical and user-friendly approach. The high-ticket course accompanying the book, launched in October 2023, has already seen remarkable success, growing steadily. This course trains movement instructors to integrate Joanne’s methods into their practice, promising transformative results for their clients.

Beyond writing, Joanne is an international teacher of applied structural anatomy, a professional Structural Integration practitioner, and the Director of the Art of Contemporary Yoga Teacher Training in London. Her extensive training includes certifications in Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Autoimmune Response Testing (A.R.T.), and Frequency Specific Microcurrent (F.S.M.), among others. Joanne’s unique approach integrates her studies in anatomy, philosophy, and spiritual sciences, offering a holistic perspective on human movement and wellness.

Her involvement in the new field of Fasciategrity and her ongoing work in complementary health and medicine underscore her commitment to advancing understanding in these areas. Joanne’s upcoming series of books, illustrated with her own whimsical cartoons, promises to demystify fascia and empower individuals to move better, live pain-free, and connect more deeply with their bodies.

In 2015, Joanne’s work garnered the attention of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness (MSIA), a charitable foundation in Los Angeles. Invited to teach their community, Joanne integrated her knowledge of fascia with the spiritual teachings of this mystery school, significantly influencing her perspective and approach. By 2023, she earned a doctorate in Spiritual Science, becoming an ordained minister and merging her scientific knowledge with spiritual insights.

Joanne’s personal journey has also been marked by resilience. Diagnosed with breast cancer, she applied her methods to aid her recovery, achieving remarkable results. Within 12 weeks of major surgery, she was able to perform full weight-bearing yoga, demonstrating the efficacy of her “myofascial magic” techniques.

Her story is one of perseverance, innovation, and a deep commitment to improving human movement and wellness. Joanne Avison’s work is not just a contribution to the field of movement and therapy; it is a game-changer, offering a new way to understand and care for the human body. The course, co-created with Paul Thornley, is a fabulous “non-denominational” movement practice for all movement instructors. Her upcoming series of books will provide clear, actionable steps to improve natural human movement, making this essential knowledge accessible to all, regardless of age and fitness level.

Joanne Avison’s contributions to the fields of anatomy, movement, and wellness are unparalleled. Her work bridges the gap between traditional teachings and modern science, offering a fresh perspective that resonates with practitioners and enthusiasts alike. “Myofascial Magic in Action” is poised to become a cornerstone in the education of movement professionals, continuing Joanne’s mission to transform lives through a better understanding and practice of fascia-based movement.
