A groundbreaking immersive attraction in the heart of London has opened its doors, providing visitors with an unprecedented opportunity to explore the incredible diversity of our seven continents on an epic scale. The BBC Earth Experience, featuring exclusive narration by Sir David Attenborough, showcases breathtaking footage and extended scenes from the BBC Studios Natural History Unit’s television series “Seven Worlds, One Planet” on state-of-the-art multi-angle screens. Producer Moon Eye Productions and main contractor ES Global Solutions selected Neptunus to construct the temporary structure that houses this extraordinary experience.
Spanning an impressive 1608m2, the BBC Earth Experience offers a truly transformative journey where audiences of all ages can immerse themselves in the wonders of the natural world. Visitors will feel transported to far-flung places as they lose themselves in boundless wonder.
The immersive experience takes place within The Daikin Centre, a sustainable and demountable building designed specifically for this purpose. Neptunus provided the ideal solution with their Evolution structure, a temporary building known for its rapid construction and insulated, soundproofed roof and wall panels. This makes it perfect for long-term events or studios. Neptunus completed the structure in December, outfitting it with multiple suspended multi-angle screens and the latest digital screen technology to fully captivate visitors and allow them to explore the extraordinary diversity of our seven unique continents.
Ben Keast, Managing Director of Neptunus structures, expressed pride in providing their temporary structure for the BBC Earth Experience. He stated, “Our Evolution structure has proven to be the ideal space solution for projects of this nature. While we have previously constructed the Evolution in London for various applications such as the LTA cinch Championships and Masterpiece Art Fair, this is the first time we have built it with a height of 15 meters in the heart of the city. The size, scale, and effectiveness of the building are perfect for this application, and the results are truly fantastic.”
