StrategiQ and Tyler Grange among Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work in 2024

Award-winning agency StrategiQ and environmental consultancy Tyler Grange have been recognised as the Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work in 2024.

The accolade for StrategiQ comes as the agency celebrates a decade of success and expansion, defying industry challenges with its sustained growth and commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture.

Despite a challenging landscape where many businesses have struggled or closed their doors, StrategiQ has flourished, solidifying its presence with offices in Suffolk, Leamington Spa, London, and a newly opened branch in Manchester.

The agency, which employs more than 50 people, is run by Andy Smith, CEO, Sarah Smith, co-founder and chief people officer, and James Bavington, chief technical officer, who have cultivated an exceptional workplace culture that prioritises its employees’ growth and satisfaction.

The Sunday Times’ nationwide workplace survey honours Britain’s top employers, spanning diverse industries and sizes, while also recognising excellence in supporting various demographic groups.

StrategiQ’s achievement is underlined by its outstanding performance metrics. With an impressive average engagement score of 89% and a 0% flight risk from its existing team over the next nine months, the agency’s commitment to employee satisfaction and retention is evident. Feedback from the survey highlighted soaring scores in agency pride, wellbeing, transparency of information, and internal recognition, with a resounding 93% confidence score in management—19% higher than the industry average.

Sarah Smith said: “Being honoured as one of the Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work is truly humbling and underscores the dedication and hard work of our exceptional staff. They have played a pivotal role in our success and in serving our valued clients.

“We acknowledge the challenges faced by many agencies in recent years, particularly amidst the backdrop of Covid and economic uncertainty. Despite these hurdles, our team’s unwavering commitment shines through. We’ve heard from new clients who sought out our services due to the reputation of our hardworking team.”

London-based B Corp environmental consultancy Tyler Grange has also been named amongst the Best Medium-sized Organisations.

The firm operates a four-day week – with no loss of salary or benefits – as well as its in-house clinical psychologist, resilience consultant, mindfulness coach and mentors, with the cost of counselling sessions also covered by the company. Employees volunteer for causes close to their hearts on many of their Friday’s off.  From brewing its own low-carbon beer to providing an internal gifting platform, Tyler Grange has enjoyment at its core.

Jon Berry, managing director of Tyler Grange, said: “We’ve always recognised that our culture provides our ultimate competitive advantage and that our people are our greatest asset. It’s why we’re so committed to providing the best and most enjoyable environment to work and grow and, as a result, we’re able to offer our clients the very highest service levels.

“And crucially, as a business, we’re also reaping the rewards. Our own data shines a light on us being a great employer, but to have it formally recognised as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024 is absolutely brilliant. We’re all delighted.”
